ABOUT THIS EVENT
Saint-Saëns "Carnival of the Animals"
With the generous sponsorship of the EQT Foundation, in partnership with WVU's College of Creative Arts, Summit Chamber Music Series is thrilled to present "Carnival of the Animals: A Family Concert Celebration." Even after 136 years, Camille Saint-Saëns' celebrated work "Carnival of the Animals" continues to ignite and inspire audiences with the beauty and wonder of music. Featuring 10 different instruments and 14 child-friendly short movements against the backdrop of a colorful storyline, Saint-Saëns' work concludes with "La Cygne," one of classical music's most lyrically beautiful and recognized pieces.
Regardless of one's age and familiarity with classical chamber music, the enchanting sounds of the animals will transport your family to experience soul-touching music together. A family-friendly, hands-on Instrument Petting Zoo will be held post-concert, where audience members, young and older, can experience a variety of instruments up-close and personal.
This Family Concert is FREE, but advanced ticket registration is required. You can reserve your tickets through WVU for this event. Click "Buy Tickets" and you will be directed to WVU's website.
